  10.   The DDN MANAGEMENT BULLETIN is distributed online by the DDN Network
  11.   Information Center under DISA contract as a means of communicating
  12.   official policy, procedures and other information of concern to
  13.   management personnel at DDN facilities. Back issues may be read
  14.   through the TACNEWS server ("@n" command at the TAC) or may be
  15.   obtained by FTP (or Kermit) from the NIC.DDN.MIL host [192.112.36.5]
  16.   using login="anonymous" and password="guest". The pathname
  17.   for bulletins is ddn-news/ddn-mgt-bulletin-nn.txt (where "nn" is the
  18.   bulletin number).

  21.                  California 1-800 TAC Service Outage
  22.  
  23. 1.  1-800 TAC Service within California (area codes 310, 510, 909, 209, 213,
  24. 408, 415, 619, 707, 805, 818, and 916) was inadvertently terminated on 16 Oct
  25. 92.  We regret the inconvenience caused by this action.  DISA is working with
  26. Pacific Bell to re-establish the service as soon as possible.  We believe this
  27. will take several days.

  29. 2.  Recommend all services and agencies advise their users of this problem.
  30. DISA believes that some 1-800 TAC users may be within the coverage of local
  31. TACs in California.  Included in this bulletin are all TAC dial in numbers in
  32. California.  If a user normally uses the 1-800 service from his/her place of
  33. work, he/she should reference this list to determine if a local TAC could
  34. support his/her requirement.  In urgent cases, users may wish to make toll
  35. calls to access the TAC closest to their location.  If a user requires help,
  36. he/she should contact the NIC help desk (1-800-365-3642).  The NIC has been
  37. briefed on the current situation and is prepared to assist.
